ESREL 2027
37th European Safety and Reliability Conference
6–10 June 2027, ETH-Zürich, Main Building
From shocks to transitions via resilient and sustainable future systems
Hosted by ETH Zürich and the Paul Scherrer institute, ESREL 2027 will bring together researchers, engineers, and industry leaders working across safety, reliability, risk, and resilience engineering and science — from components to large-scale infrastructures and complex socio-technical systems.
Modern society increasingly depends on interconnected technical, social, and economic systems whose performance, safety, and sustainability are challenged by aging infrastructures, climate change, digitalization, cyber threats, autonomous technologies, and dynamic societal drivers. ESREL 2027 will address these challenges, providing an interdisciplinary forum covering topics such as, but not limited to:
- Safety and reliability engineering, maintenance planning and optimization, prognostics and health management
- Resilient infrastructures, safety and resilience sciences, risk management and governance
- AI and data-driven risk analysis, cyber-physical systems
- Energy transition risks, safety culture and organizational factors, human reliability, risk perception and communication.
Building on the established ESREL tradition, the conference will foster scientific excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and knowledge exchange across academia, industry, and public institutions — contributing to safer, more resilient, and more sustainable technological systems and societies.
The program will include keynote lectures by leading international experts, regular and special technical sessions on emerging and hot topics, panel discussions, as well as social and networking events.
The conference is organized under the auspices of the European Safety and Reliability Association (ESRA).
The conference will take place in the main building of ETH Zürich, a landmark institution renowned worldwide for its excellence in science and engineering, offering a prestigious and inspiring setting in the heart of the city. We warmly welcome you to Zurich and look forward to shaping the future of safety, reliability, and resilience together.
